In this episode we discuss how Parneet Sidhu was able to bring Motionball for Special Olympics to Simon Fraser University (SFU).
As a senior at Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada, Parneet is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation. She talks about her experience working at Kintec as a Fitting Expert and as a Physiotherapy Assistant at Kids Physio Group, learning about the business side of kinesiology careers, as well as developing rehabilitation techniques for children. Parneet also discusses how she was able to start a Motionball chapter at SFU, collaborating with a national not-for-profit organization aimed at introducing the next generation of donors, volunteers, and sponsors to the Special Olympics movement.
Get Involved (from motionball.com):
For students, the motionballU program provides unparalleled leadership experiences, a way to meet new people, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference on campus and in the community.
For post-secondary schools, supporting the launch of a motionballU chapter means positioning your institution as an engaged, opportunity-filled destination for incoming students, while at the same time giving back to the local community in a meaningful way.
